In 1975, the first 911 Turbo was launched and would remain the top model of the 911 range thanks to its turbocharging. The 911 Turbo, also known as the Porsche 930 Turbo, featured widened rear fenders that gave the car a total width 12 centimeters wider than the classic versions. On the rear hood, there was also the famous spoiler with a characteristic black rubber edge. The black Fuchs rims also contributed to the stunning look.
Originally designed for racing, the Porsche 930 Turbo's Flat 6 was derived from the Carrera RS engine. The goal was to use technologies that would allow for high power without affecting reliability. Introduced with the 1979 model year, the 3.3-liter engine provided a significant performance boost. The air-cooled flat-six was perfectly suited to a larger turbo and a new intercooler for improved efficiency. Power was increased to 300 horsepower and torque to 412 Nm at 4200 rpm.
The 1983 Porsche 911 Turbo we are offering today was sold new in the United States. It was then imported in Belgium. Our car is equipped with a 4 speed manual transmission. 91842 miles (147805 km) have been covered with its engine.
The car is offered with Belgian registration documents, two keys, a manual and a service booklet.
Our Porsche 930 Turbo is in very good condition and runs smoothly.
The paint is in very good condition, as well as the interior as can be seen on the pictures. Nevertheless, the driver's seat is quite worn.
The last major maintenance was done at 91626 miles. The spark plugs have also been replaced.
Note however that the available invoice history on this vehicle is limited.
Our Porsche 930 Turbo has a dent on the front bumper (see picture).
There is no other specific work to be done, unless you want to restore this 911 Turbo to near new condition.
