Mercedes-Benz presents the SL type R107 in April 1971. Produced in Germany, in Sindelfingen, the 350 SL is based on a new platform which nevertheless uses some elements of the W114 sedan. The Mercedes SL type R107 will be featured in many screen productions, such as American Gigolo, Dallas or Beverly Hills Cop. Its career will last 18 years, with more than 230,000 units manufactured. Note that 6 vehicles out of 10 were sold in the United States. This is the case of our model.
Imported from the United States to Belgium, our 350 SL R107 is offered for sale with American documents. It will be up to the buyer to proceed with the registration procedures in his country of destination. Powered by a 3.5 liter V8 engine developing 200 horsepower, the 350 SL is equipped with a 3 speed automatic transmission.
This 350 SL R107 is in short distance running condition, but needs a complete maintenance and some work as it is visible on the pictures. It is above all a good restoration base at a reasonable price.

The car is running and there is no problem with the gearbox. On the other hand, it needs a complete overhaul so it can only do short distances. As indicated in the ad, it is a good base imported from the USA but not a restored vehicle.
